Marley and Me

Saw "Marley and Me" last week. The "Boston Globe" gave it a 2-star rating, saying it's run of the mill. Roger Ebert gave it 3 stars, closer to my take. Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are quite effective. The dogs portraying Marley are cute, annoying, in your face, and lovable; like a family member that you complain about but can't live without. Makes us look anew at the value of our own dogs' contributions to our family lives.
